Align Strategic Management Services Pty Ltd was established in 2002 by Tania Van der Stap, Director, after having Productive Safety Management published internationally by Butterworth-Heinemann, Oxford. As a result, Align made the transition from specializing in Human Resource Management to Health, Safety and Environment. From 2002 to 2012, Align provided HSE consulting services to Chevron’s Gorgon Project, Monadelphous, Baker Hughes, Fortescue Metals Group, Worley Parsons and other clients.  From 2012 to 2016, Tania held the position of HSE Manager with AngloGold Ashanti Australia Exploration where she made significant improvements taking the business unit from ‘vulnerable’ to ‘proactive’ on the HSE and operational risk journey.

Greg Croker joined Align in 2012 bringing 30+ years of professional experience in Operational Management, Regulatory Compliance and Quality Management. Greg’s career has been extensive having worked in both the public and private sectors including Major Construction Projects such as the Chevron’s Gorgon and Wheatstone Projects and Inpex’s Ichthys Project, whilst a Senior Professional with GE Oil & Gas and Chevron Gorgon Upstream.

Major Projects required Greg to manage biosecurity internationally including in Scotland, Norway, Italy and Malaysia. As a result, he is recognized as a global leader in Operational Risk, Regulatory Compliance and Biosecurity Management across all industries. Greg also has extensive knowledge of agricultural and horticultural practices having public sector experience with the Department of Agriculture and Food WA and having risen to Senior Technical Services Manager for Quarantine WA.

In 2017, Align was rebranded to Align Risk Management. Key specializations have continued to include: Operational risk, HSEQ and biosecurity management systems development and efficiency improvement; risk leadership program delivery; international publications, technical writing and thought leadership. Align is renowned internationally for driving change in the safety profession to shift to risk-based practices which pursue production, quality work and HSEQ performance concurrently.
